Save the facts while they are fresh
Immediately after applying, record the job title, employer, closing date, application date and the CV version you used. Save the advert if permitted, because the public listing may close before an interview.
Also note any promise the employer made about timing. A stated review date is more useful than a generic follow-up rule.
Understand the status, not the silence
On Jobza, an application may move through applied, shortlisted, interview, hired or rejected. The employer controls those decisions, and you can withdraw an active application if your plans change.
A quiet period does not explain the reason. The employer may still be reviewing, the deadline may not have passed or the process may have changed. Avoid treating silence as either success or rejection.
Send one useful follow-up
If the advert gives instructions, follow them. If it gives no timing and the closing date has passed, one concise message after a reasonable review period is usually enough.
A useful message can say: “Hello [name], I applied for the [role] position on [date]. I remain interested because [one specific reason]. Please let me know if you need any further information. Thank you, [name].”
Keep it short and use an official contact channel. Do not send repeated daily messages or share extra personal documents unless the employer explains why they are needed.
Keep your search active
While you wait:
- Continue applying to suitable roles.
- Improve one piece of evidence in your Work Profile or CV.
- Practise two likely interview questions.
- Check travel, schedule and pay information before committing more time.
- Withdraw politely if you can no longer accept the role.
Use Jobza as your record
The Jobza application tracker keeps each status in one place. Your application uses a dated profile snapshot, so later edits do not silently change what the employer originally received. Check the tracker, prepare for the next step and keep other opportunities moving.
